59 Squadron, Huddersfield

Cadets and staff at 59 Squadron recently got the chance to pick up silverware for their shooting skills.
The Graham & Pott Trophy is a local competition, presently being held each year in Mirfield at the Paul Lane Shooting Club. A team of four staff members – Kevin Piccavey, Gerald Smith, Paul Akroyd and Ian Young – won the competition this year.
Paul also recorded the higest individual score, after a shoot-off with three other entrants who had scored a maximum 50 out of 50 in the competition proper.
In recognition of the number of cadets who enter the competition each year, there are now awards for the best cadet team and best cadet marksman. The team trophy was won by Cpl Peter Holdsworth, Cpl Euan McFalls, Sgt Ben Wallis and Sgt Andy Campbell.
