Camps, trips & visits
Every year cadets at 59 (Huddersfield) have the opportunity to attend annual camp at an RAF base. Camps run during the summer and often at Easter and give cadets the opportunity to sample all aspects of RAF life. Activities include flying, gliding, shooting, drill, the chance to visit different RAF sections and take part in work experience, as well as team building and social activities.
In addition to UK camps there are opportunities to travel overseas to Gibraltar, Germany, and Cyprus. Cadets also have the opportunity to go overseas on other courses such as skiing, winter skills and International Air Cadet Exchanges. Back in the UK, there are also opportunities to go parachuting, micro-lighting, hang gliding or on community sports leaders courses – all run by experts from the RAF.
