Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award aims to provide you with an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development, which is of the highest quality and the widest reach.
The Squadron is one of the best in the Wing in terms of its Duke of Edinburgh’s Award record, with cadets taking part at Bronze, Silver and Gold level.
At each level, cadets take part in activities relating to service, skills, physical recreation and expeditions. At Gold level, cadets also take part in a residential project.
To take part in the award, you have to be at least 14 years old, though you can start some activities slightly before your birthday. The Squadron’s many activities make it simple to complete your award as you’ll have the opportunity to use some of your experiences towards your award. We’ll support you every step of the way and can even loan you the equipment you will need to take part in the expeditions.
