Squadron staff, cadets and their parents were invited by the Commanding Officer to the unit’s second annual awards night.

The awards night, designed to recognise achievements made by cadets during 2015, was held at Outlane Golf Club for the second time. Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Kirsty Piccavey, acted as host and introduced the members of staff who presented each trophy.

The top awards were presented after a short interval during which there was a buffet provided by the venue. The Mal and Pat Davis award for the most improved cadet was presented to Cdt Amber Walker, collecting her second award of the evening. The Halliwell Trophy for the best cadet was received by Cpl Kishan Mistry, who was been promoted recently. The Flt Lt Crook DFC plate for the Squadron’s best Non Commissioned Officer was presented to Cpl Joshua Young.

The final award of the evening was the Commanding Officers Cup for the best flight, it is competed for by cadets of A and B flight over a 12 month period. The trophy for 2015 was presented to the NCO’s and cadets of B flight.
